Daniel was born in Ireland in 1849 to Dennis snd Hanora Sheehan) Sullivan and came to the US in the mid-1850s with his family. They settled in Fall River, and he lived there for the remainder of his life. Daniel became a US Citizen in 1880. He was a laborer, and worked for the City of Fall River in the highway department.
Johanna Kelley was born in Ireland in 1849 to Timothy and Hannah (Sullivan) Kelley. She can to the US with her family around 1860.
According to the 1900 US Census Daniel and Johanna were married around 1865, which would make them around 16 at the time of marriage. That same Census lists Daniel’s year of birth as 1844 and Johanna’s as 1850. Daniel’s death certificate lists his birth date as September 6, 1846. Johanna’s doesn’t list a date of birth, but gives her age as 62, which would suggest a birth year of either 1850 of 1851.
The couple had eight children, three of whom were alive in 1900: John H., Rose A., and Mary E. Those children would also survive their parents.
Daniel died at his home in Fall River on February 19, 1911 of Aortic Endocarditis. Johanna followed him two years later on February 8, 1913. She also died at home, but of chronic illness intestinal nephritis.
They rest together in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Fall River.
