Ralph and Mary Bowker

Ralph Wheelock Bowker was born on September 3, 1815 to Ethan and Alphia Bowker. He was probably born in/near Milford, MA. Mary Brunson Howard Bowker was born around 1818 in Massachusetts.

The couple married in Milford on November 26, 1840. So far as I can tell they never had children. Ralph was a cabinet maker specializing in pianos. They appear in the Census records in Winchester, MA and the Boston area, though their final home was on Main Street in Milford.

Tragically, Ralph committed suicide by hanging, and died at the City Hospital in Boston on August 18, 1876. After his death Mary’s sister and brother-in-law moved in with her. She died in Milford on January 28, 1899.

They rest together in South Hopedale / South Milford Cemetery in Hopedale, MA.
