Edward Carter
This is the grave of Edward Carter (1697-1742) in Boston’s Granary Burying Ground. He was a silk dyer and scourer who ran a shop on Cambridge Street near Lynne Street in the West End of Boston. The epitaph takes up the majority of his gravestone and is put higher than his name.
